The Role
As a Licensed Customs Broker, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant clearance of import and export shipments while providing high-level service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and lodge import/export declarations via EDI
- Apply accurate tariff classifications and determine customs value and origin
- Assess Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility and applicable concessions
- Calculate duties, GST, and applicable charges
- Liaise with Australian Border Force (ABF), freight forwarders, shipping lines, and biosecurity authorities
- Maintain, complete and audit-ready documentation
- Provide technical advice and guidance to clients
About You
- Licensed Australian Customs Broker
- Proven experience within a freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian customs legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience using EDI systems and CargoWise (highly regarded)
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
