Were seeking a hands-on Customs Manager who will combine strong tariff knowledge with operational oversight to deliver high-level service to clients. Youll play a key role in advising on customs matters, managing invoicing, and ensuring seamless transport execution all while leading and mentoring a dedicated team.
What Youll Be Doing
Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide and mentor Brokers and Classifiers and to ensure accurate and timely processing of customs entries and classifications
- Provide operational support and leadership across the team
- Ensure new business is transitioned efficiently and correctly
Customs & Compliance
- Provide professional customs advice to a diverse client base
- Manage accurate and timely classification of all shipments
- Oversee duty deferment usage and levels
- Support Trade Compliance initiatives and ensure all regulatory requirements are met
- Manage the customs system and conduct regular file audits
- Process refunds with customs authorities in a timely manner
Customer Service & Revenue Growth
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct client visits to maintain service excellence
- Promote consultancy/recoverable services (Tariff Advice, Concessions, Drawbacks, Refunds, Posts, etc.) to drive revenue
- Provide guidance on Customs Law and compliance

Key Attributes
- Licensed Customs Broker highly advantageous
- OR willingness to be enrolled in a Customs Brokerage course within 6 months of placement
- Strong operational & invoicing experience within freight forwarding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supervising or managing a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organised with strategic planning capability
- Knowledge of global logistics and industry regulations
