The Role
This role is part of the National Ocean team. This is a hands-on position responsible for managing capacity and implementing ocean product strategies across both commercial and operational areas.
The position involves working closely with internal and external suppliers as well as global network teams to ensure the best value for ocean freight services for their valued customers. Key tasks include pricing negotiations, tender responses, supporting local branches, maintaining quality and consistency, and helping drive product growth.
- Gather and analyze supplier rates to establish competitive national pricing
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements to secure optimal pricing and capacity
- Shape pricing strategies, market positioning, and product differentiation to maintain competitiveness
- Strengthen and manage relationships with suppliers and co-loaders
- Support RFQ processes to ensure the commercial viability of customer partnerships
- Drive the development, structuring, and enhancement of the companys freight forwarding services
You will be working closely with your manager and attend regular management meetings to continually develop the value proposition.
Essential Requirements
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
A solid background in Oceanfreight in a Forwarding environment
Intermediate MS Excel knowledge is essential
Great customer service attitude
Strong commercial acumen
